I received a call one day from a children's ministry "newbie" from another church who wanted to meet. I thought I could share some of my experience and wisdom that I had obtained being in Children's Ministry for over ten years and agreed to meet her and some other children's ministry leaders at a local Starbucks. Little did I know 8 years later how much I would gain and learn from this group, much more than I had offered. I was a ministry "island" at my church. The people in our Children's Alliance (The Ministry Network) understood my struggles. They encouraged me when I was burnt out, they were a sounding board to hold me accountable and to remind me to always have God at the center and they added laughter into my life, so much laughter. These colleagues, and friends have walked beside me (and held me up at times) through the struggles I have had in ministry and in my personal life and they have celebrated the good in my ministry and my life. I know that God has placed these people in my life not only so that I would not feel alone, but so that I could grow to reach others for Him.
