“CMA helped me to connect with other leaders in ministry and create opportunities to better equip myself as a spiritual leader. It has also been a place where leaders have become friends, helping each other through some of life’s struggles we face on a personal level as well.”

When I decided to listen to the call that God placed on me 10 years ago, I really didn't have a clear view of where I was headed. As I look back, I can honestly say that God doesn't call the equipped; He equips the called. One of the ways that I was equipped was by meeting Marie and Stacy! We would meet once a month, and through these meetings I gained confidence in the journey that God had called me. Over these years, our relationship has evolved from colleagues to sisters. I can't imagine doing KidMin and more importantly LIFE without these two amazing women!

I received a call one day from a children's ministry "newbie" from another church who wanted to meet. I thought I could share some of my experience and wisdom that I had obtained being in Children's Ministry for over ten years and agreed to meet her and some other children's ministry leaders at a local Starbucks. Little did I know 8 years later how much I would gain and learn from this group, much more than I had offered. I was a ministry "island" at my church.    The people in our Children's Alliance (The Ministry Network) understood my struggles. They encouraged me when I was burnt out, they were a sounding board to hold me accountable and to remind me to always have God at the center and they added laughter into my life, so much laughter.   These colleagues, and friends have walked beside me (and held me up at times)  through the struggles I have had in ministry and in my personal life and they have celebrated the good in my ministry and my life.  I know that God has placed these people in my life not only so that I would not feel alone, but so that I could grow to reach others for Him.

So I was the newbie they referred to…I had and still do have a deep desire to share the love of Jesus with others. New to the job as Children’s Ministry Director, I sought out mentors in my field. Boy, is God good!! He has blessed me richly and I can truly feel his love for me in this group!
Over the years, they have become my family. They have held my hand through difficult days and we have had some great belly laughs together.  God continues to bless the work he has us all doing with this network in place! And my life wouldn’t be the same without my CMA peeps!!
